Media Filtration

Product Description

StormFilter is the leading passive, flow-through, stormwater filtration system in North America. The system is comprised of one or more structures that house rechargeable, media-filled cartridges. This siphon-actuated, media-filled technology allows for unparalleled particulate, hydrocarbon, metal, and nutrient removal efficiencies. StormFilter systems enable Engineers to meet the strictest requirements in North America. They can be designed to remove 80% TSS based on particle sizes of 10-20 um.

SS Credit 6.1 - Stormwater Quantity Control, 1 Point

Intent - Limit disruption of natural hydrology by reducing impervious cover, increasing on-site infiltration, reducing or eliminating pollution from stormwater runoff and eliminating contaminants.

Potential contribution: CONTECH Pretreatment Systems
  • - Extend the service life of infiltration and detention system
  • - Minimize maintenance
  • - Control flow into infiltration systems

SS Credit 6.2 - Stormwater Quality Control, 1 Point

Intent - Limit disruption and pollution of natural water flows by managing stormwater runoff.

Potential contribution: Stormwater Treatment Products
  • - Many systems can be designed to achieve 80% removal of total suspended solids (TSS) load
  • - Choose the product that best meets your water quality objectives and local regulations

WE Credit 3 - Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent - Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: CONTECH Stormwater Treatment Systems
  • - Pretreat rainwater to remove pollutants with treatment systems

WE Credit 3 - Water Efficiency, 2-4 Points

Intent - Further increase water efficiency within buildings to reduce the burden on municipal water supply and wastewater systems. Reduce by 30% (2 points), reduce by 35% (3 points) or reduce by 40% (4 points).

Potential contribution: CONTECH Stormwater Treatment and Detention Systems
  • - Reuse harvested rainwater for grey water applications such as toilet flushing

MR Credit 4 - Recycled Content, 1-2 Points

Intent - Increase the demand for building products that incorporate recycled content materials. The sum of post-consumer recycled content plus one-half of the pre-consumer content constitutes at least 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost, of the total value of the materials in the project.

Potential Contributions: CONTECH Concrete Structures
  • - Many CONTECH vendors use recycled materials in their concrete mixes
  • - Contact your local CONTECH representative for project specific information.

MR Credit 5.1 - Regional Materials, 1-2 Points

Intent - Increase demand for building materials and products that are extracted and manufactured locally to a job site in hopes to reduce the environmental impact that would result from transporting these goods. Products manufactured, extracted and recycled within 500 miles of the project site for a minimum of 10% (1 point) or 20% (2 points), based on cost of the total materials value.

Potential Contribution: All CONTECH Products
  • - 40 manufacturing facilities nationwide Contact your local representative to find out if your project location falls within our reach
